GOAL

Teach Them Diligently

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.“ Deuteronomy 6:6-7

DHSG was created out of the need in our church body to connect with like minded homeschoolers who believe it is their duty to train their children in the way they should go (Prov. 22:6) and have chosen homeschooling as a tool to fulfill that command. We adhere to the beliefs and statement of faith of Destiny Christian Church.

BUILD COMMUNITY

Field Trips

Parent-led field trips are a vital part of any homeschooling curriculum. They make learning fun and memorable and provide children a place to socialize with other children that are homeschooled.  We have many parents that organize a variety of field trip opportunities, including teen specific field trips.

BUILD COMMUNITY

Park Days

Park days are perfect for children to play with one another, make new friends and strengthen current relationships. Not only that, but parents are given space to fellowship, share any struggles, and/or tips and tricks of homeschooling. These are easy gatherings and a good way to get to know some new people.

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

What is DHSG and why is it important?
We are a group of families that believe it is our God given responsibility to educate our children. We believe we must support and encourage one another in this journey of homeschooling and strive to create a community that is ‘one anothering’. It is important to have support in areas of life that can be overwhelming. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
What days and times do we meet?
We gather for an encouragement night on the 1st Monday of the month at 7pm at the Destiny Community Center. Occasionally, we move the date because of a holiday. Feel free to email us to confirm meeting times/dates.
Can children attend the encouragement night?
Our encouragement nights are for parents only, typically moms gather to hear a topic and encourage and build one another up.
Do I need to register or can I just show up?
You do not need to register for our monthly meetings, however all of our other events, and more, can be found on our private community app for group members. To join simply email homeschool@destinyonline.com for a link to download the app.
Does DHSG offer any classes or have school options for me to register my student for?
At this time DHSG is only a parental support group. While we work cooperatively to schedule events for our children and group, we do not offer any regularly occurring educational opportunities. For more information on Destiny's private school, please visit https://www.destiny.school/.
